David Gilmour's Remember
That Night Live At The Royal Albert Hall
concert was released on Blu-ray Disc by Sony
BMG in the United States on Tuesday 20th
November 2007 to coincide with the Thanksgiving
weekend.
EMI Records released the Blu-ray Disc (their
first ever!) in Europe on Monday 26th November
2007.
Blu-ray, which has been championed by Sony,
is a high resolution disc format on which many
films and video games are being released in
order to take advantage of its larger capacity
and better resolution.
Although Blu-ray has a longer production process
than a DVD, the disc holds roughly four times
the data of a standard DVD and it really pays
off on Remember That Night.
The content is exactly the same as the DVD (but
with much higher-resolution pictures and audio),
except that lyric subtitles have been supplied
for all songs, apart from Arnold Layne,
for arcane copyright reasons.
